Cosplay Challenge 09, unlike other Cosplay events which you may have attended in Singapore, is not just another venue for cosplayers to gather and enjoy their love for cosplay. Cosplay Challenge 09 will be an avenue for anyone who wish to take their first step into the world of Cosplay.

Cosplay Challenge 09 Competition

In addition to the Cosplay Challenge 09 event on 31 Jan, Singapore Cosplay Club had conducted a series of cosplay workshops earlier  where many young cosplayers  are being guided in making the costume for their desired character. On the event day, they will compete with other fellow cosplayers to see who will stand victorious . So come down and support them in their first cosplay experience!!

 

 

Goldy MasterClass and Prop Modification Workshops

 Flown in specially from Tokyo, Goldy-san a lengend himself who is a world class and world famous Mecha Cosplayer and costume maker will be conducting the  ”Goldy Costumes Props MasterClass” specially for us at Cosplay Challenge 09.  More infomation on Goldy and his class here.

 

Anime Musical Live? What exactly is it?

Singapore Cosplay Club has partnered with the Singapore Winds Symphony Youth Winds to present to you a musical experience you would enjoy.

The Singapore Winds Symphony Youth Winds is a very famous and accomplished Symphony Band in Singapore.

Comprising of 50 instruments, let yourself be spirited away during the Anime Musical Live!

Repertoire of Songs that will be played:

Overture to Kingdom Hearts
Inuyasha
Princess Mononoke
Final Fantasy Xtravaganza (big compilation of Final Fantasy Songs)
Ponyo! Theme
and…..SURPRISE Songs! (don’t ask. No one knows what they are)

What is the program schedule like?

10.00am Cosplay Challenge Event Officially Starts, “Goldy Mecha MasterClass”

1.30pm World Cosplay Summit Exclusive Screening

2.00pm Cosplay Challenge Competition starts! (Challengers arise, come support!)

4.00pm Anime Musical Live! / “Prop Modification Class”

6.30pm Party Party Party for the Cosplayers/ Karaoke session

8.00pm Event ends

I figured that most will still have lots of queries, so read the FAQ before asking any:

1. Singapore Discovery Center? I have not been there for ages!

Not to worry! There will be special Cosplay Challenge Buses bringing you to the Singapore Discovery Center from Boon Lay MRT station.

SBS bus services 193 and 182 is available from Boon Lay MRT station. A small map is attached for those who intends to drive there, or take bus directly down. Click on the map if you need to plan your travel.

2. Where can I buy the tickets?

2 options for you: join the queue and purchase it at Singapore Discovery Center itself before entering the event, or beat the queue by buying it at any Comics Connection outlet.

In case you forget, or just not very sure, locations of Comics Connection are as follow:

5 ) Plaza Singapure
6 ) Century Square

A receipt will be given to you, and you will need to bring that to the Cosplay Challenge event. The receipt serves as the ticket already.

3. What does the $10 ticket entitle me to?

First and foremost, the ticket entitles you to all of the above workshops and activities at the event.

Secondly, you are also able to catch the 2D movie, “Space Elevator”. It is a Japanese Animation about high technology to travel to space.

9:15 am, 11:10 am, 15:10 pm, 17:10 pm

Thirdly, this is the first time the Singapore Cosplay Club is doing a ticketed event again in years. Henceforth, they would really appreciate your greatest support as this event is really expensive to do, lol!

The Spore Discovery Center has incredibly beautiful grounds and serve as good scenery spots for Cosplay photoshoots.
