Point Zero: Redefining Otaku

AFA09 website has finally come online. It is confirmed that the event will take place on 21^st and 22^nd November at Suntec City Exhibition Hall.  The first AFA event, held just a year ago, attracted stars like May’n and Ichirou Mizuki, who are idols of most anime fans. AFA08 committee had thus push the quality benchmark for anime and cosplay events to a new height in not just Singapore, but the whole of South-East Asia as well. Who will be coming AFA09? What are the other events that will take place? We will all have to wait until any information leaks out.

There are still 5 more months from now till AFA09, and within these few months lots of event will be taking place. In Singapore, SHINE Youth Festival, partially organize by the KuroBara committee, will start off 3 weekends of back-to-back cosplay events on 27^th June. It will be followed by a cosplay competition at The Game eXpo (TGX’09) on 4^th and 5^th July. The series of events will end with well-established Cosfest, already at it’s eight installment, which will take place on 11^th and 12^th July.

Anime fans at Malaysia don’t lose out either. Animangaki 09 will kick off as well 3 weekends of back-to-back anime events on 27^th and 28^th June 2009, followed by a cosplay competition in GameHub on 4^th July. The highly anticipated DaiCon will conclude the string of events in Malaysia on 12^th July with a Minori Chihara concert.
