Draft ‘N’ no more!

For those of you holding back upgrading your wireless gateway (Router) from ‘G’ to ‘N’ because of the word DRAFT, now would be a good time to do an upgrade!
Reason?
As of September 2009, the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) has fully ratified the 802.11 ‘n’ standard to provide higher transfer rate and increased range over both 802.11 ‘b’ and ‘g’ standards.
In short, it is time for you to trash out your ‘g’ routers in favour of ‘n’!
Even though it has only been now that the 802.11 ‘n’ has been fully approved by the IEEE, the market has already been flooded with draft ‘n’ products years ago. Now the question is: “What about those who jumped on the ‘n’ bandwagon early?
Not to worry as there has not been any major changes to the hardware itself. All that is needed is a firmware update to make your wireless ‘n’ router compatible with the ratified ‘n’ standard or check out the WiFi Alliance webpage to see if your product is certified! (CLICK HERE FOR LINK!)
If your product is not listed in there, call up your equipment manufacturer for more details!
