Flip: That would be the last resort to the problem, I was unwilling to hard rest my phone thus finding the above solution. I would have murdered my friend if I didn't found the alternative. Thanks for the information though. ^.^

Found this on another website, only thing that worked for me:
To perform a hard reset (by Ariwibowo)
1. Turn the G1 off. If it’s frozen on, take the battery out and put it back in the unit.
2. Hold the Home and Power keys down at same time for about 25 seconds. You will see a yellow triangle screen with exclamation point in the middle. Now to wipe the device clean:
3. Press Alt+L. 4. Press Alt+W for a factory reset. 5. Press the Home and Back keys again for about 25 seconds. The device should then reset again and the hard reset is complete.
Good luck and hope you had your contacts stored on the SIM.

Jay: did you wait for the orientation change before pressing the home button? The method does require a bit of timing, but once u get hold of the timing it will be easy. Alternatively you can try Jenny's method. While in a call, press your home button to go into your home scree, the rest would be the same. The key to the fix is to be able to access your home screen and disable your patten lock.

Jenny: Thanks for sharing your tips.^.^

Just had this problem, the flipping screen and Home button didn't work for me either! I had someone call me, while I was on the line with them my Home Screen unlocked and I was then able to go change my Security Settings and disable Lock Pattern. Then everything was back to normal. I also changed my Google password online, but when I unlocked it never asked for it just my Unlock Pattern. Hope this helps!!!!
