Pixlr – editing photos online
Need access to photo editing tools wherever you are? As long as you’re connected to the internet, Pixlr allows you to do just that.
Pixlr is a free web-based image editing application. It works with most versions of Flash, but Flash 10 is preferred in order to utilize all available function. Usage is pretty simple as well. After the application is loaded in your web browser, choose whether to create a new image, or edit an existing image in your computer or online. You are allowed to either save the picture back in your hard drive or share the picture on the internet after you’re done editing, with an option to save in 4 different file formats.

Currently there are two versions online: Editor and Express. Pixlr Express, as the name suggest, allows users to perform simple photo manipulation; Adjustments can be done for brightness, contrast, hue, saturation, blur and sharpening, on top of basic functions like resize, crop, rotation, and their small selection of photo effects. Pixlr Editor, aiming to be a full fledge photo editing application, can be compared with the likes of GIMP and Adobe Photoshop. A plugin named Pixlr Grabber allows you to edit any images using Pixlr application with just a simple right-click.
