Magic the Gathering : Early Rise of the Eldrazi Sneak Peak

Its only the the end of the 2nd week of march, yet it seems that the colossal s can’t wait anymore to show their powers….
Dated back to the 1st of march, we already have being spoiled with one of the monstrous Eldrazi, more so its one of the mythic legendary one….

Can you imagine this kind of crazy shit?
Apparently this will provide us with 2 of this set’s mechanic.
1. This set contains colourless creatures, and also colourless spells (More on this later)
2. Annihilator X , a powerful rule word which makes me wonder if there will be any “Annihilator Prevention” also in this set.
This was spoiled on MTG Arcana.
While thats at the start of the month, we are having 2 more sites with spoilers mailed to them (Wonder what does it take for them to mail me too =X)
First is 5colorcontrol.com. (Link)
They will be promptly be releasing them on monday. Do check them out
Second is MTG-Realm.blogspot.com. (Link)
Also on monday, at the same time both site also released a piece of news related to this set’s info.
Please note this is information directed to the ones from the 2 website I quote this from, so its not directed to me. If it shall violet any one out there, let me know and I’ll promptly remove it.

Not only are we providing you preview cards as part of our pooled program, but we’re also supplying hi-rez art for you to use on your site. In addition, we thought you might like some background on the set so you have some context in which to preview the cards and art.
PREVIEW ART
We are providing you with hi-rez samples of key Rise of the Eldrazi art for your use. Please feel free to use this art to skin your site during Rise of the Eldrazi previews, feature it in a Rise of the Eldrazi gallery on your site or whatever you think would whet the appetite of your readers and viewers for more Rise of the Eldrazi content.
We wanted to see what the community of Magic news and fan sites would do with our art, so we are including it with this round of spoilers. If the community develops a compelling use, we might continue the program in the future and possibly include exclusive pieces to some of the best sites.
You may use this art immediately.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The following information gives some background to the story, play and tournament aspects of Rise of the Eldrazi. Please use this information to provide background on the set when writing your articles about preview cards.
The Rise of the Eldrazi
For thousands of years, Zendikar has had a reputation as a deathtrap. It’s been a world of deadly perils to Planeswalkers and native explorers, punishing any who seek to loot its hidden treasures and exploit its potent mana.
But unknown to the plane’s denizens, there’s a sinister reason for Zendikar’s danger: for millennia, the plane has served as a prison for the Eldrazi, astral monstrosities native to the Blind Eternities. Now, the perils facing adventurers on the plane of Zendikar have taken an even deadlier turn. The Eldrazi have been released.
Hailing from the Blind Eternities, the space between planes, the Eldrazi have transcended the colors of mana as we know them. As a result, the Eldrazi progenitors themselves and those closest to them are colorless. But don’t let the mana cost fool you-these Eldrazi are not artifacts.
Each of the colossal Eldrazi spawns its own “brood lineage.” The three brood lineages are composed of Eldrazi Drones and other subordinate beings, each reflecting the image of its progenitor. The smaller Eldrazi Drones that are aligned with colored mana and many of these drones, as well as some spells, produce Eldrazi Spawn creature tokens. These 0/1 colorless creatures can be sacrificed to add one colorless mana to your mana pool-perfect for casting those enormous Eldrazi.
The Rise of the Eldrazi set also marks the debut of colorless instants and sorceries. Like their Eldrazi creators, these versatile spells can be put into almost any deck.
Rise of the Eldrazi in Tournament Play
This new and deadlier world comes with a set of mechanics that are separate and distinct from Zendikar and Worldwake, its predecessors in the Zendikar block. It is a large set and its unique mechanics mean limited play (drafting and sealed play) are played with Rise of the Eldrazi product. However, since it is part of the Zendikar block it will rotate out of Standard with Zendikar and Worldwake.
Personal Speculation
And also from one of Mark Rosewater’s Twit, I believe that one of the art provided is what he hinted on his twit, lets take a look at what he twitted.
“For everyone begging for some teaser – One of the MVP’s in my deck is an almost repeat of a card from Alpha.”
And from one of the art spoilled…..

As you can see… It holds something which looks like a balance, and the name of this picture saved on the 5colourcontrol site is “Balancing Angel“, from which I suspect that this Angel might carry something similar to Balance. Maybe a Minor form of Balance with a body.
Plus, looking at this art.

This are Hedrons, but they look different, as you can see, some seem to be “opened”, as the same for Rise of the Eldrazi Set symbol, it means “Hedrons Open”.
From here, under awakenings,
“Jace immediately offers his help, but is stunned to find his spells malfunctioning and one of the Hedrons floating about the cave absorbing his magic”
Some how, it means that this Hedrons reacts to planeswalker’s mana or spells. If its true, then perhaps the Roil was not a concurrence due to Hedrons being present.
What I personally feel is that, This Hedrons are devices used to lock the Eldrazi’s in their place, and is only opened when 3 planeswalker gather together to do something, this is similar to what Sorin did to imprison them in the first place. (From here)
“He once came to Zendikar to imprison the vile Eldrazi, a powerful race that once attempted to conquer the multiverse. He was assisted in this task by two other Planeswalkers”
It seems to me that, Hedrons assisted in locking up this Eldrazi, and that the Roil was introduced as a means to shift them around(?) and also to prevent planeswalkers to mess with the seal. The 2nd key would be the Spirit Dragon, Ugin. His involvement seems to be unknown, except that it seems that due to a colorless spell which chandra cast causes the triggering reaction of the Hedrons. (Guess Jace helped Chandra cast or came up with Ghostfire).
But it seems that the Eye of Ugin is ‘Friendly’ towards Eldrazi’s, its puzzling to try to figure out how it actually helps to seal them away in the first place.
I think, this card would have being a land which might interact with the Eldrazi. Something which allows you to spawn Brood Linage?
Looking at the art of one of the Intro pack, the Totem Power pack. Theres something which tingles my mind.
lets take a look at it.

The card featured is name “Gigantomancer”. Look, if you can see the art looks kind of weird, whats that bug looking creature standing on the ceiling of that guy (or that guy standing on the ceiling in another way). What I feel would be that Gigantomancer might be some Enchantment (Non Aura) which can be equipped as an Aura when it comes into play targeting a target, or come into place independently and if there is a target, when it would be destroyed instead this card will be destroyed. Kind of like an equipment, but it can have a stand alone ability when its not attached to a creature.

A New Sharkan, as being said that Hybrid Mana will be featured in this set, Sharkan might be the first to get a Hybrid mana treatment. His art looks like black mana has got him… Red Black Green ???

A new White planeswalker, Gideon from The Purifying Flame. Its said that his a powerful hieromancer, a magic of an order (something Which i cant seem to find any information about on google). He had a crossing with Chandra before, it will be interesting to see their encounter.
